The Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Uriel Palti has called for greater collaboration between his country and Nigeria football, saying both countries have areas of mutual interest in the game.
Speaking during a visit to the NFF Secretariat in Abuja, Ambassador Palti mentioned the names of Nigerian footballers who have played and still playing professionally in Israeli, saying that both countries can take things further by organizing friendly matches between their senior teams.
“Nigeria is a big country in football in the world, and Israeli will be keen to have your National Team play our own team in Israel, and then we can organize a return match here in Nigeria.
“Football is a big instrument of unity among the nations of the world.”
In his response, NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi thanked Ambassador Palti and assured that the NFF was open to discussions on the possibility of friendly matches between any of the various National Teams and its opposite number in Israeli, saying football is a tool for integration and co-operation among the countries of the world.
