Rising Stars FC of Jigawa has emerged the overall winner of the Nationwide League One division three playoff held in Kano centre, having defeated Funtua Fc 2-0 in a colourful final played on Wednesday.
The Jigawa side scored a total of 14 goals and conceded only one in four games to emerge the overall winner.

Rising Stars defeated Talba FC in group A opening game by 3-0, and went ahead to humiliate Gods Wanders 4-1 in their second game before demolishing Balanga Fc 5-0 in their last group game played on Wednesday.

In the same vein, Gods Wanders was relegated to the State League having failed to secure a win and eventually lost to Gombe Lions in best losers’ playoff.

Gombe Lions thumped Gods Wanders 2-0 to escape relegation.

Rising Stars has been promoted to division two of the Nationwide League One by virtue of its triumph.
